I'm back from Brissy in Aussie! hahha, okay i meant Brisbane in Australia.
Not going to put up many photos here cause that'd be a uploading nightmare (and i'm still supposed to be suffering from jetlag, 2 hours difference is STILL a difference! hehhh). but you can view them at facebook! (i'm talking to my invisible stalkers don't mind me)
EDIT: i meant i'm going to put up lots of photos.
haha i don't know what i was thinking when i wrote the above paragraph.
alright, i'm writing this post in various chunks because i keep getting distracted (television, unpacking, getting familiarised with my house etc).
it's 7pm now and i'm shocked that the day hasn't ended yet. In Australia, we'll probably be washing up and getting ready to sleep by now.
Okay, so for that little wrap up of my Aussie vacation.
it was AWESOME (to quote one of the favourite words of the Australians). Like i had expected, there were plenty of gorgeous landscapes to camwhore and just gawk at, especially for us visually-deprived city kids. The theme park rides were still as scary as i thought, and i squirmed my way out of two rides but still pretty fun on the whole. :) I didn't even think I would muster up the courage to sit for one of them.
the moments to remember..when the radio continually blared
MJ's hits in our rented car, and then suddenly i shrieked and twisted the volume knob way up. and the dj declared that MJ had just passed away. and there were loads of OMG, idontbelieve!, and the frantic googling of how it happened as soon as we reached Toowong.
chancing upon the steal of a lifetime - $10+ AUD to
drive our own boat, and fish for 3 hours in the vast lake of Noosa. and reeling in my very first fish catch ever! :)
stealing some private time with the boy when we sneaked out of the house for a walk around Toowong, only to brisk-walk home very soon after to the sounds of nature calls. hahaha.
breathing in the fresh chilly air as we stood atop the hilly vineyard, with jacket-clad
horses grazing beside us. this is definitely one of my favourite places in the world. photos can't bring across the sea of calm that washed over me as i stood there, listening to the music of the winds breezing across the valleys.
the
crowded kitchen where we all gathered to whip up dishes for the housemates whose space we've invaded for almost two weeks. that night we had an international dinner of kimchi soup, chinese prawn-omelette and blackpepper chicken.
wintry nights where we dug our hands
deep in our coat pockets and hung our heads low as we trudged against the sharp chilling winds.
that horrid competition of daidee and indian poker where the suay me kept picking the
gross jellybellies. they come in assorted flavours of baby wipes, boogers, pencil shavings etc. G R O S S. I almost puked at one point.
my not-needed alone time with a bucketfull of expensive technological gadgets as I waited an hour for the boys to emerge from that
superman ride. i was too chicken to try that. 0-100km/hr in 2 seconds, NO THANKS. :)
me and the boy being quick strawberry-pickers in the
strawberry fields, while the rest were still searching for the most perfect ones to bring home, and popping the rest into their mouths. TSK TSK. i think they ate a whole kg of them juicy red gems.
i think
my boy is very the cute. :P
so are angmoh kids. AIYOH I WANNA
PINCH THEIR CHEEKS!
in aussie, their street bird variety are of a colourful and exotic kind. They even have swarms of
wild parrots with colorfully streaked stomachs around!
the many
fish and chips meals we had. They have ginomous chips there! my cousin longlong truly belongs there hahaa. (he's a lover of fries, old joke about his tallness too. :P)
my
xiaoyi's treat all the way from singapore, with a budget of S$500 to splurge on a good meal. Of course we couldn't totally use that entire amount, but we did have a lavish meal of S$200. :)
alright i should STOP for now. i totally over-uploaded. hahaha.
g'day to you folks! :)
