it's the pre-birthday jitters.

and somehow it's not in a good way.

i think the pessimist in me is really showing this birthday.

not only am i trying to ruin any surprises the boy has planned for me, i'm trying to guess and thwart his plans through and through by nagging at him to give me clues and getting upset when he doesn't.

oh gosh so dumb.

My capital for the blogshop has been expanding, because I had to try out so many different materials (with little success yet STILL. :( ) and so..

WHAT I REALLY WANT FOR MY BIRTHDAY IS

to receive angbaos instead of gifts! Think of them as a form of monetary support for your dear friend's blogshop! :)

hehhh, there's no greater passion than my blogshop for me now. And I'll really need to money to feed back into the blogshop.

I feel a little embarrassed asking for money so blatantly, normally I go with the politically-correct "Oh, it doesn't matter what you get. As long as it's from the heart :)" answer.

But I've decided to be a little thick-skinned this time. THERE. :)

Starting a business is a very exciting, disappointing, crazy, tiring, fulfilling, happy rollercoaster ride.

I've kinda rode on a high when it first started out, and I started getting compliments and my customer list just kept getting longer, everything was incredibly flattering. And of course, the additional pocket money never hurt. :)

However, problems are starting to arise, with incompatibility of materials and such starting to materialise from the initial bubble of ecstasy. Now it's just a mad frenzy of trying to find the RIGHT tools and materials, which is INCREDIBLY tiring and can sometimes yield no results even after spending days googling and emailing for help. And it just sucks that Singapore is a land where very very very little claymakers reside, so there's like only this extremely tiny pool of like-minded enthusiast and retailers you can get support from.

which is horrid.

and I start to get very dejected, and I stare at all my invested materials and mentally calculate the amount of effort (moolah and mental effort) I've put into the blogshop. And how it's all going to go down the drain if I just call it wraps.

And then I trudge on, hurtling through all the obstacles that never seem to end.

It's a long journey ahead.

Welcome to the world of business, baby.

Yesterday, I was a mess in the cinema.

YUP, it was Marley and Me. Not giving away any spoilers, just hit the right spots as I started thinking about Nicky (the golden retriever we've been playing a lot with), and about the new golden retriever that the boy might be getting in around June.

I got a load of really pretty pictures of Nicky (she's a 3 year old girl actually) when we sneaked her to East Coast Park. :)

the doggie biscuits we bought as treats. Lucky for us, cause she was so hungry during the stroll.

Perfectly-formed pawprints, on sand.

Looking mighty fine, Nicky! :)

These two rank high on my favourite list.

The rain was a damper. :(

The dog's always anxiously looking out for the boy! it's so cute. And touching how they bonded so quickly.

Nicky bouncing about in a sea of pink and white flower petals.

The boy looks so cute with his pissed expression. HEEHEE. Maybe he found the entire background too gay.

That's how Nicky looks like when we dangle treats in front of him. Those gorgeous puppy eyes.

If you look carefully, you can see the dog's pawprints and the boy's shoeprints. haha, I was trying to be an artsy photographer. :P

Okay, that's all the one-liners there is.

Now, I have to make use of my No-school Wednesday, and start making orders for the blogshop! :)
