my lovely little secret mission worked out perfectly!
that lone almost-one-hour bus-trip, with me trying to hold in my headache and balancing cake, tealights, present. having to dream up various white lies to keep dear's suspicions at bay, and i couldnt even occupy myself with talking with dear on the phone, lest he hears the bus-stopping sounds and engine roars. sneaking into the condo and up onto the rooftop all by myself, in the dead of night. scorching myself so many times with the nasty lighter and tealights which wouldnt light. that long phonecall with dear, in the stuffy room. the twelve o'clock that never seemed to come, and when it did, went by like a bang. half-tripping and half-singing up the stairs, with birthday cake in hand. dear was so touched he teared a bit, which made me feel all was really worth it. and you were right ros! the headache DID disappear the minute i saw him. :) all that hugging and mass-blowout of candles. the dangerous drive home at 3.30am.
such a lovely night.
a very happy birthday to my one and only dearest jiayang.

just six hours ago, i was still in the big ocean, sailing aboard royal carribean.
and now, im back home in singapore.
i know it's just 4 nights, and 5 days! but i am wishing i was back on the ship already. although i am glad to be back home, with the humidity i'm comfortable with, and no more nose-bleeds hopefully.
yesterday's jacuzzi under the moonlight was supposed to be really good. it was, in the end. but i'm so sorry i spoilt it all in a way, for everyone. :(
honestly, i kept peptalking myself, but my conscience just
never gets the better of me. dang.
witnessed lots of intra and inter-racial conflict at the dining rooms, haha. i think throwing thousands of people, all coming from different nationalities and possessing different cultural codes, into a room with buffet meals, spells trouble. and what's up with the matching tops some of the chi-ahem-na people were wearing. haha.
and to my lovely! it was just splendid having you by my side 24/7. :) ilu so much.my hokkien mee's here!! :D :D :D

only two days more.
there's something wildly delirum-inducing about sitting on the rackety chair, taking the last final glances at that darned examination paper, and smelling the excitement in the air, exuding from every other student. the final countdown is on, and there is only five minutes left to the soon-to-be post exam period. As the anticipation gradually mounts and threatens to erupt, you give up trying to tally your bubble sheet answers and checking for spelling mistakes in your essays.
Instead, you fixate on that wall clock in front of the hall, and feel every other student's heartbeat pound silently, in unison with yours with every ticking movement of the clock hand.
And you see the invigilator (finally) walking towards the microphone.
"Okay, no more writing. Time is up."An almost audible sigh of relief resonates from every seat in the hall, as you hear the pens clattering on the tabletops, and the constant shuffling of papers. The magical three words come to every student's minds.
EXAMS ARE OVER.(alright, snap back to reality joce. there are still two more days.)
