the
music and lyrics song is stuck in my head.
"i've been living with a shadow overhead.." hauntingly beautiful melody.
im in london still, in a room i can call mine for the next five days, which boasts of a superwide window which sees out into the streets of earl's court london. HOW COOL IS THAT. it's 12.55am here anyway. the flow of traffic outside doesn't seem to be slowing down to a trickle as of yet though. maybe it's because it's Saturday. OH i just remembered, okay just sent out an sms to Dad. it's Fathers' Day guys.
was in Sainsbury's just now. or is it Saintsbury's. HMM. but anyway, it's a supermarket here which has very nice fonts on all its packaging, haha. and there was a nice American gentleman who started chatting to me and di at the cashier line. actually, he was looking and talking to Di 90 percent of the time, HEE. anyway, he was complaining of the prices here, because we've got to convert back to our Sing dollars, and him to his US dollars (stupid powerful Pound currency), and that he hasn't found anything that would have costed more in his home country. was just suggesting to Di that he could make a very nice neighbour for her, since he seems to be living in the district. :)
and then we helped get assistance for this man who started keeling over near the Tube platform and looked too weak to walk. we are nice people arent we, huh. haha. not like this brit lady, who started screaming at everyone in the train because her daughter (i presume) couldnt enter the Tube but she was already in when the doors closed. To the people who didn't move in, "You guys made a 17-year old girl be alone at the platform, THANKS A LOT. you could have fucking moved in, you know! " (read that in your best fake brit accent) or something to that extent. which led to this suit-clad guy arguing with her, ahh scary business. though it was a pretty good show for me and di lar, being us. hahah.
there doesn't seem to be a right piece of clothing for london's weather. i had on a longsleeved turtleneck and jeans today, because it was bloody cold in wimbledon where i stayed at the last couple of days. but it started getting all cheery-sunny at Portabello Market (SEE DI, I REMEMBER THE NAMES OF THE PLACES. and you know what, im totally hearing all the muffled voices right now from the flat above. it's like, gibberish which i can't even listen on in. i can only guess their emotions from the rising tones of muffled gibberish. haha.)
damn, wanna post photos but blogger being anal again. oh goody, it's working. from Day 0 on the plane, till a few days ago. anw im counting my blessings every single day since i've been here, i know how damn lucky i do to be here. and though i know whatever my brother said about the family eating maggi mee to make up for all that money blown on this trip was bull, still it must have hurt the family budget somehow. SO, since i dont have any money to put back, the least i can do is make this all really worth eh. :)
a policecar just zoomed past AGAIN. seriously, u hear ambulances and policecars about once every ten minutes here in london. and we saw a policewoman give chase to this guy who looks like he was thieving newspapers, which seems really stupid to me, near di's dorm.
i'm gonna try to finish watching Shrek on the return plane back. i kept pausing the movie on the flight here, but i did watch finish both Music and Lyrics and 200pounds Beauty, both great shows. oh, and please let di be on that return flight too. :)
and this is who i came to see, all ten thousand miles away (i think).
they've got a culture of reading newspapers on the Tube and leaving copies around on the train to share amongst all the commuters.
outside a bar
this miller crunch yoghurt thing is really good! all the milky goodness of yoghurt, with crunchy nuggets. pretty smart concept, to keep the tasty nibblets separately, plus its loads of fun to scoop them into the yoghurt and watch the tiny guys submerge in the creamy mix.
hahah, so lame.
Trafulgar Square, pigeons. they puff themselves up real fat when it gets cold.
di with her Turkish Delights, me with Krispy Kremes doughnut.
Covent Garden, i'm really pretending to look, while posing.
At Thames River, (damn it feels good to know all these names :) ) having the Cadbury 99pence soft ice cream you can find almost everywhere in London. okay maybe i exaggerate.
London screams red everywhere. but it's a bold happy colour. :)
An orange jaberra (i think), di got it for me when i touch-downed on London. with a big namecard poster and huge plans to scam me and Wenli into believing that we've got to take a taxi in this great foreign city we've just arrived in. nice one, di.
wedding day bus which Di pointed out. cool idea, to have all your friends and family ride along to your wedding hur.
majorly sweet belgian waffles totally drenched in maple syrup.
daisies spell s-u-m-m-e-r in london. and they are darn common on the walks, very nice splash of white and yellow.
Road leading to Buckingham Palace, totally adorned with UK flags to remind you what ground you're stepping on. ookay.
From Earl's Court station, to Malcolm's place.
And this is where i'm residing at right now!
Goodness, it's 3am! (and there're still cars zooming around on the street below.) i have got to sleep, pray hard that the shit headache disappears by tomorrow. we're visiting Camden Town! Goth freak alert!
much love to all of you! :)
can you hear the soft swoosh of the butterflies' wings. 7:57 AM.
HELLOOOOOO TO ALLLLL!!
im in London, at di's dorm in Waterloo. She's popped over to the laundry place, and it's been quite some time, so here i am while waiting for her to return.
Oh, the Brits are lovely people! i've been preparing myself for racist remarks and everything ever since one of Malcolm's friends talked about racist people in his school at dinner that day. but none of them have happened yet, thank god. maybe i'll encounter those in Paris, nooo. but the London departure interrogation was scarryyy, "where are you going to live? how do you know each other? blah blahh."
okay wait, di just came back, and there're some problems with me sleeping over here. crapp.
